Tonight when I was doing the dishes, Blips came in the kitchen and said,
“Your deal-e-bob is toast”
I said, “What?”
He repeated it a little louder….but the volume was not the problem.I had no clue what he was talking about and I am FROM here!He was speaking Minnesotan and/or American English.
To what do you think he was referring?
Trader Joe’s has some nice new dark mint chocolates that melt in yourmouthfor the one who gets the closest to the deal-e-bob.
Ooh, I love dark chocolate…and mint. Isn’t it great that dark chocolate is good for us! Some hints may be needed on this one, Maxima. My thought is that your computer mouse is “toast.” Is more than one guess allowed?

My first thought is your computer. Maybe your car needs fixed? I was worried your Senseo machine was toast, but that would probably not be referred just yours.
Another thing that retains “yours” and “mine” status is clock radio-and or CD player…so that is my guess!

Good guesses…..my car does need fixing but it is not toast, thank goodness.
We have 3 Senseo’s …so no problem if one goes on the blink…just get another one out of the closet.
Nope to the clock radio and CD player….yes, we have separate ones as we also have separate computers. They are not toast, thank goodness again.
I bought the chocolates today…..ok, he only said it was ‘mine’ because I bought it and thought it was brilliant. It is for the house and I might add…not so brilliant.

I am trying to narrow this down, but I am not making any promises. You were already in the kitchen, so the “toasting” event took place outside there. It is for the house, so it has to be in some common area.
My first guess is you bought a really cool looking lamp or light and now it’s toe-sst!
Second guess, an electric wine bottle opener, which worked so brilliantly at first, you got rid of your other ones and then it went kaput, and things are not so brilliant anymore!

It is something I got at a garage sale and it was supposed to work great but always was a pain in the butt.

Ugghh..I am drawing such a blank! But I feel like I should throw something up on the board today…so I am guessing a massage chair thingy.
Okay, I’m out to the yard. Did you buy your gazebo thingy at a garage sale? Wasn’t that the thing Klaas didn’t want to put together? Did it blow down? Did it rust out in the only (about one time) rain we had this summer?

I had a midnight epiphany while lying awake having had too much tea and was going to say Vacuum Cleaner, but I have to change my mind.
My final guesses – a towel warmer (although not sure she would have one left-over!) and automatic dish soap dispenser.
P.S. I have a sneaky suspicion that you are right Sam!

It was a double rack towel bar. We piled everything on it and bent the little piece of metal on the wall. Then about every two weeks it would just fall down. Finally, Blips just took it off completely and that is when he announced….your deal-e-bob is toast.
I will be getting those chocolates to you soon
Footnote: one day I just noticed that he put some heavy duty screws right through the pretty part where screws are not supposed to show…..and it is now back on the wall and very sturdy. So I guess, Blips ‘untoasted’ it.

Well, thanks! But I think Sam and Irish deserve the chocolates ‘cos they were much more dedicated guessers. I just wanted to figure it out and it was bugging me

Congrats! I don’t think towel warmer was even on my radar.
We have a towelwarmer, came with the apartment. We never use it since I don´t think it warms the towels very well, maybe it is because it takes so long to warm up that I would have to turn it on long before I take the shower. Oh well, probably better to save energy and not use it anyway?
